STORY

Whether in the wilderness, city or studio ideas of nature figures prominently in my painting.. Combining the impossibility of capturing the moment and the primacy of imagination I seek to celebrate nature and mark in a personal and meditative way the passage and power of light in time and space. Travel in varied terrains often informs my work and the powerful women artists of the past who forged ahead with their personal visions.

Background includes seven artist residencies around the world, over 8 solo shows in Tribeca and Chelsea, 3 museum solo shows and work in numerous corporate and university collections. Selected for three US embassies by the Dept of State- Art in Embassies program. BA, MFA Queens College, Ed.D.Columbia University. A former college art teacher and instructor at LLI at Bard, SUNY Ulster and SUNY New Paltz.
